Three models, one family

XF Elite, XF Pro and XF Athlete: the full range at a glance, each shown in side view and outsole. The XF Pro and XF Athlete share their midsole platform and last with the XF Elite, so every model is recognisable as part of the same family.

The Creative Process

From the brief to the tech pack

01

The brief

The development of the XF Elite didn't start at a design table, but with a very specific brief: a shoe built exclusively for the movement patterns of functional training: squat, Olympic lift, box jump, short sprint and grip work, without inheriting the compromises of other categories of sports footwear.

First renders

The first volumes, in neutral grey and with no colour or branding: proportions and architecture tested before anything else.

Design directions

From that brief we worked on several design directions in parallel, testing concepts of last, collar height and sole geometry before converging on a single proposal.

Shaped by athletes

Throughout the process we have listened to athletes, coaches and box owners, through surveys and interviews, because the only honest way to know what a shoe for CrossFit needs is to ask the people who train in it every day.

What we heard has guided the material decisions that now appear in the tech pack: a midsole of differentiated density between heel and forefoot, designed to give stability in lifting without penalising response in explosive movements; a reinforced heel area for lateral load work; and an upper that prioritises hold and ventilation over minimal weight, because in an hour-long session the foot moves, heats up and sweats, and the shoe has to hold just as well at minute 50 as at minute 1.

The aim is a product built from the inside out from how people really train, not an aesthetic adaptation of a platform designed for something else.
